Women's Seasonal Wardrobe Clothing Triumph Suit

Title Default Title
Qty:

Triumph in your next triathlon with a suit designed to move with you. Choose from either sleeved or sleeveless views. No side seam and shifted shoulder seams mean you’ll look great from all angles. Princess seams in front and back curve with your body and a banded shorts hem stays in place while you race. A zippered, floating front makes transition comfort breaks quick and easy. Four back pockets and two easy access side pockets mean all your supplies are close at hand.

This pattern is suitable for advanced (or motivated intermediate) sewists. You should be comfortable sewing with stretchy activewear fabrics and stretch mesh as well as applying zippers, FOE, and clear elastic.

This pattern requires stretch fabric with good recovery - it is drafted with negative ease for a close fit similar to RTW compression styles. The shorts inseam is 21 cm (8 1/8 in) long, and the sleeve is 15 cm (6 in) long.

1cm (3/8in) seam allowances are included throughout.

Due to the unorthodox seamlines, diagrams showing how to make common fit adjustments to this pattern are also included in addition to the usual illustrated instructions.

Pattern features:

  • Layered pdfs (with separate sizes)
  • "Trimless" Print at Home pdf (compatible with A4 and US Letter)
  • Copy Shop pdf (compatible with A0 and 36in wide)
  • Projector-optimized pdf
  • Fully illustrated instructions
  • 7 sizes (see size chart above)
  • Common Fit Adjustments guide

Supplies:

  • 150cm (60in) wide lycra fabric with at least 50% stretch in both directions and excellent recovery. Fabric terms to look for include “wicking lycra”, “supplex”, “activewear lycra”, or “sports jersey”. Appropriate fabrics will likely be made from polyester or nylon with a substantial elastane (Lycra) content.
  • Mesh (for lining) with at least 50% stretch in both directions. The mesh is not used for supportive purposes here, so look for “stretch mesh” or “stretch net” rather than “power net”, and choose one that is soft rather than scratchy. Note: this mesh will be visible on the back and side pockets.
  • Foldover Elastic (FOE) in the width of your choice for binding the neckline, front bib short, and pocket edges.
  • A separating zipper (see next chart for required length). If you cannot find the exact length, buy a longer one and trim from the top.
  • 6mm (1/4in) clear elastic for strengthening neck and armhole edges. For the Sleeved view, you’ll need 0.5m (18in), and for the Sleeveless view, you’ll need 2m (2 1/4 yd).
  • Iron-on interfacing- lightweight for stretch fabrics
  • Chamois pad - lightweight, for triathlons
